Poppy Waddilove is a young artist from London who transverses the fashion and art worlds. She studied illustration at London College of Fashion and Fashion Design at Central Saint Martin's.
Waddilove revels in the drawings from old couture houses, the historic fashions and elegant movement of fabric flowing over the body capturing the movement in exquisite illustrations. She combines these influences in her studio with her own life drawing studies and her commissions for fashion shows. Waddilove was asked to visualise catwalk shows at London Fashion Week for designers such as House of Holland, Kerry Nixon and Jasper Conran. Movement of the body and fabric combine in a fluid expression of the artist's hand to create a spontaneity of gestures and celebration of the female form. Whether it is an illustration or painterly composition Waddilove explores the context of fashion illustration in traditional and contemporary ways to expand her own distinctive style of timeless elegance.
Waddilove is quickly becoming a favourite of interior designers and luxury goods companies such as William & Son and LuxDeco. Her artwork has featured in The Edit, on Net-A-Porter and in Grazia Middle East where she was described as a rising star on London’s art scene. Her artworks feature in private collections in London, New York, Atlanta and Milan.
