Artwork information "Unchained III"

Unchained series is the latest project of Sandra Miranda Pattin.  The artist is looking into the fragile balance of everyday decisions and the constant weighing of circumstances.  Those artworks represent the internal dialogue with oneself and the desire to let go and transcend social and personal boundaries.

Sandra Miranda Pattin has immersed herself in the international art scene. Originally from Colombia she studied Fine Art at the Lorenzo de Medici School of Art, Florence and divides her time between South America, USA and Italy, however, recent projects have taken her to China.

Pattin’s art practice is universal to the study of people, how they express their subconscious through their bodies, and this transcends borders. She is very much a global citizen and focused on the engagement, promotion and understanding of arts and culture.  As well as her own art practice Pattin in an art writer and curator and has been involved in many capacities with exhibitions, art projects, festivals and biennales, most particularly the Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art. Pattin’s artworks can take many forms: video; performance; installation; sculpture; photography; drawing and mixed media artworks on paper. Common materials across these mediums include threads which symbolise connections between people, making the invisible physical and expressing a dynamic energy through a line, heightening actions. The thread is also used to highlight sacred objects from rituals and symbols from tribal communities which have come into Pattin’s exploration of identity. Observing and responding to our bodies reactions to activities and emotions and how these are interlinked. Carefully discovering the fine lines between strength and vulnerability. Pattin's art is a journey of self-discovery and our sense of belonging.

Pattin’s artworks are part of public collections such as: City of Delta del Po, Italy; Camera di Commercio di Mantova, Italy; Tina B Collection, Prague, Czech Republic;  DiArt Fondazione d’Arte Contemporanea, Italy; Centro Colombo Americano Bogotà, Colombia; B&B Art Museum of Contemporary Art, Sardinia, Italy and private collections internationally.
